What should I keep in mind for self-convection?

Both cold and warm air must be able to be transported to and from the convectors through air slots. Therefore, make sure that, for example, no carpets block the air ducts under sofa drawers and that no cushions or similar obstruct the warm air’s path upwards.

What is self-convection?

The convectors heat the cold air that is at the floor, warm air then rises along the walls until it reaches the ceiling. From the ceiling, the air then descends into the centre of the vehicle, back down to the floor and reaches the convectors. There it is reheated and rises again. This is based on warm air rising and cold air falling.

What is the design of an Alde hydronic heating system?

Hydronic heating means that convectors ( radiators) are placed along the outer walls of the vehicle, more importantly convectors are placed under each window to create a barrier to protect against cold draughts. The convectors are connected by means of rubber hoses or aluminium pipes to form a loop through which the glycol fluid is transported. The heater heats the glycol water, which is pumped into the convector loop by means of a circulation pump. In this way, the energy is transferred from the boiler to the respective convector, which releases the energy by means of self-convection.
