Alde history
Our founder Alde Rask set out early on to build the ultimate heating system for caravans – and our approach is as uncompromising now as it was then. Welcome to read more about our history.
In the cold Swedish climate, we have through decades developed hydronic heating systems that provide high and safe year-round comfort in motorhomes and caravans worldwide. To optimise the comfort experience, the systems are tested in full scale down to -35 °C in our cold chambers. Our production is quality certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and our products naturally fulfil all regulations and standards in our markets in Europe and North America.
Alde is founded
Alde Rask founded Alde in 1949, and without this ingenious inventor from the small town of Färlöv in Sweden, the world would have been a little worse off. It is his ideas for better comfort in motorhomes and caravans that still permeate all our activities today.
Throughout his years in the company, he was constantly working on new solutions and new products. He was a true entrepreneur and innovator.
Alde's first caravan
After the Second World War, there is a shortage of products in all sectors. Alde Rask decides to form the Alde company in 1949 with his brothers-in-law Gunnar Eklund and Erik Ohlin, which initially focuses its production on products from trailers.
Alde develops electric brakes that open up a whole new market in the coming decades.
In 1950, the ingenious Alde Rask builds a caravan on an Alde trailer – perhaps the first in Sweden!
Caravan heating system
“At last! The perfect caravan heater” says the advertising leaflet from 1966.
This is the year the first mobile boiler sees the light of day, after an intensive period of development at Alde. The boiler is widely recognised for its efficiency.
Alde Rask travels extensively with his family in Europe by car and caravan. Being the curious person he is, he seizes opportunities and makes new contacts. This resulted in the first export of Alde products to a caravan factory in Yugoslavia.
The company is now developing rapidly, requiring larger factory premises and more employees.
The company grows
A long-awaited extension is completed, and a few years later the new assembly hall is ready.
After 25 years of ownership, the company is sold to Optimus-Alde AB.
A large number of new products are launched, including the revolutionary Comfort boiler.
New leadership
Four employees – Mats Ebenstrand, Lars Thuresson, Lars-Göran Andersson and Bo Griwell – take over the company and we change our name to Alde International AB. The company gets its current logo.
The business continues to grow, the premises are expanded and the buildings get a new facade.
Industry news of the year '94
A revolutionary new gas boiler is launched, the Alde Compact 3000, a combination boiler with built-in electric heater and water heater.
At the launch, the boiler is honoured as “Industry innovation of the year 1994”.

Alde is acquired by a privately owned group of companies active in the leisure industry, thereby increasing its opportunities for international expansion.
Alde strengthens its position as a leader in its industry. Swedish quality and ingenuity are recognised worldwide.
Expansion - Germany
The company forms a subsidiary in Germany, Alde Deutschland GmbH, located in Röthlein.
Alde takes over the Primus heating division, thereby assuming responsibility for spare parts and service for Primus boilers throughout Europe.
Alde compact 3010
Launch of the Alde Compact 3010, a further development of the Alde Compact 3000.
Demand for hydronic heating increases faster than the market as a whole. Growth continues and the company increasingly focuses on international expansion.
expansion - united kingdom
A subsidiary is formed in England, Alde International (UK) Ltd, which is located in Wellingborough.
The company is progressing well and the UK will grow into one of our largest markets in the future.
Alde takes the step across the Atlantic to the large North American market. A company is set up in the USA – Alde Corp – located in Washington on the American Northwest Coast.
The company also targets the Canadian market.
Alde compact 3020
Launch of Alde Compact 3020, a further development and successor to Alde Compact 3010.

Launch of Alde Flow – A smart comfort solution which gives you extra hot water for as long as you want via a separate water heater. Alde Flow is connected to the heating system and preheats the fresh water before it is led into the boiler’s regular water heater.

Opening of Alde Service Centre in Färlöv, Sweden. At the Alde Service Centre in Färlöv you get expert help with service, installation and repair of Alde and Truma products and accessories for your motorhome and caravan.
stronger together
Truma Corp takes over responsibility for selling Alde heating systems in North America.
alde compact 3030
In the years 2021/2023, the Alde Compact 3030 series was launched. Alde offers for the first time two different versions of a boiler:
3030 Standard and 3030 Plus which offers continuous hot water!
