No matter how far afield you’re travelling, comfort is one of the most important parts of any journey. For more than 50 years, we’ve been building, innovating and pioneering hydronic heating systems for caravans, motorhomes and leisure vehicles, and in this article we’ll explain how our heating system works.
The Alde Heating System is designed to provide maximum comfort throughout your motorhome, from the driver’s cab to the towel rails. With the Alde hydronic heating system fitted in your vehicle, you can travel in comfort in any season, all year round.
How does it work?
Our heating system is powered by a boiler called the Compact 3030. It’s the smallest, lightest combi boiler in the world. It uses a convection heating system to heat the entire vehicle in an efficient manner, from floor to ceiling.
What can the Alde heating system be used for?

Excellent efficiency
Powered by electricity and liquid petroleum gas (LPG), the Alde heating system is extremely efficient and as good as pollution-free. The convection heating system delivers ultimate efficiency – the warm air rises and then travels back down once it reaches the ceiling, heading towards the floor where the convectors can heat it again, continuing the cycle. This is called self-convection.
Tested to the limit
To make sure that our hydronic heating systems work to the highest standards we set for ourselves, they are tested in temperatures as low as -35 celsius. So, you can be sure that you’ll be comfortable throughout your journey, even in the coldest climates.
Built to be adaptable
One of the main strengths of the heating system is its versatility. Whatever your travel plans are, we can adapt the heating system to the vehicle you’re using. By tailoring the system to suit your vehicle, we can ensure maximum efficiency and maximum comfort, whether it’s a two-berth caravan or a seven-person motorhome.
No noise
Very few vehicle heating systems find the balance between comfort, performance and noise levels. Some may perform well, but they emit a lot of noise in doing so, which can distract and disturb. The Alde hydronic heating system not only delivers unmatched performance, but it’s near silent, so you’ll never hear it whilst it keeps you warm.

Alde Flow: get continuous hot water from your Alde system with this add-on module. As long as there’s water in the tank, you can enjoy hot showers.
Alde AquaClear UV-C ensures that the freshwater in your tank is just that: fresh. Fitted between your fresh-water tank and your boiler or outlets, it uses UV LEDs to disinfect the water and a carbon filter to reduce bad taste and smell, so you can be sure the water you’re using is clean and safe.
Underfloor heating and heated towel rails provide the kind of luxury you normally expect from a modern bathroom in a home or hotel. Returning from a wet and windy walk to warm floors and heated towels is a beautiful bonus.
